The venues in the area tend to reflect the majority population of educated and liberal. The local Phoenicians who don't live in this area may be jealous of its closeness to one of Phoenix's most beloved locations, La Grande Orange (4410 N. 40th St., 602-840-7777). It has a café with an outside patio, coffee bar, pizzeria, and a trendy natural food and organic market in one convenient place. The pizzeria serves award-winning entrées with options to be seated outside or indoors at the restaurant.

The typical Arcadia neighborhood will feature big ranch style homes (due to the fact they extend a ways out), citrus trees, and lush lawns watered by means of flood irrigation. It is nothing less than a very enchanting area with nice views of the Camelback Mountain.

The lush neighborhood, originally developed as orchards 70-90 years or so, remains very green because of irrigation canals from the Salt River Project (SRP). Approximately 60 years ago is when home construction began in the orchards, and today many trees still remain. The area can now be considered borderline "historic".

There are many estate-sized homes with 5 acres. Exeter is one of the trademark streets in Arcadia with remodeled and older homes priced above $2 million.

The par 71, 6,300 yard Links Course is the younger of the two golf courses at the Arizona Biltmore Golf Club. The course has desert ravines, rolling fairways and five shimmering lakes. The Links course goes around the Biltmore homes and gives players a better challenge with elevated tees. The best time to play is later in the day as the course plays slow.

The front 9 holes of the Links course is very flat, while the back 9 landscape meanders through rolling hills and provides amazing scenery of the Camelback Mountains and various nearby landmarks.
