Grayhawk Master-Planned Community

Grayhawk is a 1,615 acre master-planned community located east of North Scottsdale Blvd and bordered by Deer Valley in the North and Loop 101 in the south with E. Thompson Peak Parkway running through the community. Residents are able to enjoy quite a few parks, playgrounds, picnic areas and a walking path throughout the neighborhoods.

The Retreat and The Park are the two primary areas. Two sections comprise the Retreat subdivision: the Raptor Retreat and the Talon Retreat.

Within the two sections, there are 7 community swimming pools, 7 spas and 6 lighted tennis courts, 2 golf courses, 2 HOAs (the Grayhawk Community Association and the Retreat Village Association). The Park neighborhood in the west has numerous grassy parks, picnic areas and playgrounds for young children.

The Grayhawk Community Park, a 13-acre park designed by the City of Scottsdale, has 2 of each of the following: baseball fields, sand volleyball courts, soccer fields, tennis courts and basketball courts. Additional amenities of the neighborhood consist of The Scottsdale Healthcare Thompson Peak Hospital, Vi at Grayhawk, a retirement community and long-term care facility, the shopping areas of Hayden Peak Crossing and Grayhawk Plaza, with restaurants, grocery and added convenience stores.

Neighborhoods
The neighborhoods known as Park Side, Raptor Retreat, and Talon Retreat make up the three principal subdivisions. There are 1,800 single family homes and 1,800 townhome and condos east of N. Scottsdale Road and west of Pima Rd in a 4 square mile area Within this green area you'll find luxury condos for those on vacation, reasonably priced charming homes and $1 million plus golf estate homes.

Park Side
In the western section of Grayhawk, The Park side, between Scottsdale Rd and Hayden Rd. The neighborhood spreads across 500 acres and ideal for buyers who have a family. The reason is due to its large grassy area, barbecue pavilions, and play areas throughout the Park. Additionally, Grayhawk schools are within walking distance for Park Side residents. Homes prices for single family homes range from $400,000 to somewhere around $800,000. Buyers should note that only the Pinnacle section is gated.

Talon & Raptor Retreat
Located on the eastern edge, in the middle of Hayden Rd and Pima, are the two guard-gated communities Talon and the Retreat. They are divided by North and South Thompson Peak Pkwy.

Within these two guard-gated communities are the typical luxurious amenities such as swimming pools, two premier golf courses with exquisite green fairways aptly named Talon and Retreat, and six lighted tennis courts. For fitness enthusiasts (bikers and joggers) or the casual person, there is a 20-mile winding walkway going through each community.

Each community has a collection of upscale Grayhawk townhomes and homes named after each of the Grayhawk golf courses that run through the community. Homes prices in The Retreat are generally priced at $500,000 to more than $2.5 million. The values are higher in the Retreat because the community comes with a 24-hour guard.

Neighborhoods within The Retreat include: Serenity with 49 higher elevation lots (33 of which are on the golf course), Volare, Crown Pointe Norte, Crown Point, Los Vientos, Firenze homes built by Camelot homes features home sizes from 3,700 to 5,000 square feet with some golf course adjacent, Talon Fairways built by Lewis Homes, Talon Point built by Engle Homes, Renaissance (golf course lots ranging from 2500 to 2900 sq ft.), Monterey, Avante' homes constructed by TW Lewis on the 12th and 15th fairways spanning in size from 2,700 to 3,300 square feet.

The following neighborhoods feature only townhomes and condos: Avian, Cachet, Tesoro, Encore, Village, Venu,Vintage, Edge.

The Raptor and the Talon are only two golf courses in the Grayhawk Golf Club: The Raptor par-72 has a difficult 7, 108 yard course designed by Tom Fazio yet it is enjoyable. There is also a Learning Center for Golf Instruction within the club. The Clubhouse measuring 40,000 square feet has three restaurants: the Quill Creek Café, Phil's Grill and a restaurant labeled Mojos by locals. Locke rooms for men and women are also in the clubhouse as are the golf shop and a room for meetings.

Within the Grayhawk community is the Grayhawk Elementary K-6 School and part of the Paradise Valley School District. El Dorado private school is available for kids in Pre-K-8; Mountain Trail Middle School and Pinnacle High School.
