Living at Skyline
Located in the center of the Catalina Foothills is a distinct and elite privately-owned Country Club known as Skyline. The Skyline Country club boasts an excellent view of Tucson in the Oro valley. Cozied up in the foothills of the Catalina Mountains at nearly 3,000 feet above sea level, Skyline Country Club has a lot to offer residents and guests.
Skyline Country Club Estates is a 24 hour guard-gated community that has a patrol service. There are more than 400 single family residences surrounding the golf course, casitas, and townhomes situated along the golf courses and a large number have views of the mountains, city, or the course.
Based on properties available in the Tucson Multiple Listing Service, the townhomes are priced from $270,000 to $700,000 and single family homes in Skyline Country Club Estates range from $475,000 up to $7,000,000, three to five bedrooms, and up to nine bathrooms.
Living space from 1700 to 7,000 square feet on either a one and two story floor-plans. Lot sizes are between 1 to 10 acres.
Home builders for these luxury multi-million dollar custom homes include John Herder, Mike Wachs Construction Co., Sombra Homes, McCreary Homes, among others.
Homes range in style from Contemporary, Mediterranean, Spanish, Territorial, Ranch and Southwestern. Some of the larger estates will feature a guest suite and maids quarters.
Streets within include Calle Brillante, Finger Rock Circle, Gleneagles Drive, Javelina Drive, Los Leones, Mamaronick, Mission Hills Lane, Saint Andrews Drive, and Via Elena.
There is not a mandatory membership for residents, however, the 18 hole golf course, fitness center, and lap pool on top of the casual and fine dining are enticing.
Regular Tee times are available every day, however, adjustments do occur to oblige the various Skyline golf groups or golf organizations accepted by the Club. There are a number of groups who regularly play daily and weekly due to the nice weather.
Groups are also granted the ability to make their very own club events such as mixers, challenges, and mini tournaments. The Director of Golf is the best person to answer any golf questions as well as scheduling private or group lessons.
As one would expect for Golf members, the membership grants you access to all of Skyline's facilities and amenities. Golf, tennis, fitness, dining rooms and the numerous social events.
The club at Skyline spared no expense by offering its tennis members the use of their har-tru clay courts. Moreover, usage of the fitness center, the Olympic sized pool and the dining areas. A bonus feature is the ability to play a round of golf up to six times per year as a tennis member upon payment of a small guest fee.
You have your choice of Social Memberships, with dining or fitness options. Along with either membership, they may pay a small guest fee to use the golf course, only in the summer months.
The following schools are in the Catalina Foothills School District: Catalina Foothills High, east Orange Grove and Esperero Canyon Middle School, and Sunrise Drive Elementary.
